Guide In Installing Small Car Refrigerators
[ad_1]
Many people are now installing small car refrigerators in their cars. You shouldn’t be foreign to the additional convenience provided by these small appliances. I understand that installation can be quite tricky. This is why you have to learn more about it.
Here are some pointers you would want to consider:
1. Check the available systems of your car. If your car has A/C source, installing a fridge should be easy. In fact, you don’t need an external fridge for that. You just have to use the A/C source to keep the glove box of the car cool. This should be good enough to cool sodas. Unfortunately, they do not produce temperature as high as external refrigerators can produce. If you are storing food and other perishable goods as a preparation for a long road trip, you would want to get an external fridge.
2. If you are installing a mini-fridge, make sure you get the right choice first. Look for a reliable chest fridge that can also be used as an upright and miniature version of a full-sized refrigerator. It should be able to hold a few cans of sodas and some of your food without spilling.
The mini-fridge can be installed in the trunk. It is less convenient as you probably have to stop the car to get a can of soda. However, it is a good choice if your sole purpose is to have food and drinks ready when you need them.
3. Get an inverter to supply current. It can be hooked up to the 12V DC of your car. An inverter might be a little expensive since refrigerators require lots of power. On the other hand, there are also refrigerators that run on 12V current already. If you haven’t bought a min-fridge yet, look for those with 12V power requirement.
4. These small appliances come with a manual. You should read the manual tediously before doing anything. Follow the safety regulations and installation instructions closely.
5. If you want to cut down on power consumption, go for those mini refrigerators with a solid-state feature. Experts said they are cheaper than the standard mini-fridges out in the market. Moreover, they do not consume a lot of energy.
These are the things you have to consider when you are thinking of installing a small car refrigerator. Remember them when you are on the lookout for a good fridge.
